Best Buddies Mission/Who We Serve/Programs:

Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The IDD community that Best Buddies serves includes, but is not limited to, people with Down syndrome, autism, Fragile X, Williams syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, and other undiagnosed disabilities. Best
Buddies is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of the 200 million people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower the special abilities of people with IDD by helping them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy skills, communication skills, and feel valued by society. We here at LBJ MS started our chapter in 2017 and are going strong! Please come and check out our Best Buddies Chapter every month! You can go on to The Best Buddies Website to learn more and even sign-up! T-Shirts are always on sale at LBJ MS for $12-$15 dollars! We wear our Best Buddies T-Shirts every Wednesday as our Uniform shirt! On the 3rd Wednesday of the month, we sit together at the Best Buddies Lunch Table and eat together, and later that night we have our Family Meeting at 6:30 pm in the Media Center! Fun is had by ALL! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Blowers in L-37 at (505) 363-6419 and leave a text or a voice message and she’ll answer any of your questions or concerns! We hope to see or hear from you soon!
